Lynn Pierpont 82 of Madison, formerly of Hamden passed away peacefully on her birthday, July 19, 2016. She was born July 19, 1934 in New Haven to Adams and Lily Fagerstrom Martin. Lynn is survived by three children, Stephen Pierpont of Killingworth, Jeffrey Pierpont of Madison and Corinne Noon (Daniel) of Unionville, CT. She is also survived by granddaughter Brittney Harbist (Steven) and a sister, Gail Vernet. She is preceded in death by parents and husband of 55 years, Ralph Pierpont. Lynn as a young girl started life in a small town named Morris Cove and attended school at Nathan Hale Grammar School. She shortly thereafter moved with her parents and Sister Gail to Pickwick Road in Hamden. Lynn graduated Hamden High School in 1952. She attended Green Mountain Junior College and graduated with a secretarial degree in 1954. Lynn found employment with SNETCO. Lynn met her husband Ralph at a social event put on by the Baptist Church in Branford. They then married in 1960. Lynn continued working at SNETCO until her first new born child. Ralph and Lynn bought their first home on Forest View Road in Northford. The family started to grow and upon the third child they decided to purchase a new home. Ralph and Lynn moved to Madison in 1968 where the remained residence for the next 47 years. Lynn loved her family and would do anything to give her family the best. Like all mothers she would give more than she had for her children. There were the children’s bed time stories and great care for us when we were sick. She would patch us up from bumps and scrapes from playing too hard. The children’s swimming lessons and summer afternoons at the Madison Surf Club beach. There were the children’s birthday parties with homemade chocolate cakes and many neighborhood children present with much excitement. There are just not enough words or room in this paper to describe all the things she did for her family. Lynn enjoyed with her family the summer trips to Maine and the cabin on Balch Pond. She also enjoyed the Holidays and just being with all her family. Lynn also an artistic person enjoyed making things with her hands. She made many dresses on her sewing machine and would make holiday wreaths for Christmas. Lynn a devout Christian loved the Lord and would let people know of the salvation of Jesus Christ. “We love him, because he first loved us”. 1John 4:19 was one of her favorite verses. That was the type of person she was, had unconditional love for people. We love you and will miss you Lynn, thank you for all the love you have given us. We will see you again one day.
