Helen Lubenow Cook Hauck, 86 of East Haven died August 25, 2009 at CT. Hospice in Branford. Wife of the late Chelsea Hauseman Cook and the late John William Hauck. She is survived by her children Bradley Cook(Annmarie Crisuolo),Douglas(Judith)Cook, Michael(Mary Ann)Cook, Lauren(John D’Amato) and Andrea(Bill) Basel, stepchildren Sarah(Thomas) Kindle and William(Antoinette)Hauck,her grandchildren Jennifer(Edward)Dooling, Leslie(John)Lahoud, Elana and Ariana Basel, Daniel Cook, Faith D’Amato; step grandchildren Mariana(Michael)Lynam,John D’Amato, William and Douglas Kindle, Alex and Gregory Hauck. Also survived by seven great grandchildren, a daughter in law Betty McMillian, her special life-long friend/sister in law Jessie Delahanty, dear friend Elsie Ayr and nieces Helen and Eileen. She was predeceased by a son Randolf Cook and her sisterly cousins, Shirley, Louise and MaryJane. Born April 13, 1923 in West Haven a daughter of the late Augustus and Gertrude Lubenow, she was a graduate of West Haven High School, class of 1940 and worked for many years in the Guidance Dept. of East Haven Middle School. Birds and flowers were her passion, her gift of music and playing piano entertained many family and friends over the years. We would like to thank the GuilfordHouse where she resided for the past three years and thank you to Sherrill for her nurturing love and care over the last several years. Funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 10:0 in Christ & the Epiphany Church, 39 Park Pl., East Haven. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. Friends may call at the Clancy Funeral Home; 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Wednesday from 4-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Guilford House Patient Council, 109 Lake Ave., Guilford, CT 06437 or the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
