In Branford, November 1, 2009, Nicholas Fappiano 93, a resident of the Gables of Guilford, formerly of St. Andrews Ave., East Haven. Brother of the late John Fappiano, Paul Fappiano, Caroline Collesano, Rose Libertino, Christine Florio and Concetta”Chippy” Sanlei. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Carol Hazen and family and Leslie Hazen and family, all of the Spring Glen section of Hamden and Joseph Sanlei and family of NYC. Born September 21, 1916 in New Haven a son of the late Anthony and Giacondina “Jenny” Ferrelli Fappiano, he was educated in New Haven Schools and served with honor during WW2 with the US Army, participating in campaigns in Italy, France, Germany and North Africa. He was employed for many years as a security systems designer for several national security companies. Funeral Mass will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT, 06405.
