Pasquale " Pat" Louis D'Addio Sr.87, formerly of Huntington Ave., New Haven, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6,2010 after a determined battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Teresa Platt D'Addio, recently deceased, and the cherished father of Pasquale Louis D'Addio Jr. and his wife Patricia and Maureen Criscuolo and her husband Paul. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, his sister Carmella DiMarzo and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, James and Ralph and two sisters, Elizabeth Vigliotti and Catherine Raffone. Born April 23,1922 in New Haven a son of the late Marco and Christine D'Addio, he was a graduate of Hillhouse High School, class of 1940 and then was employed for over forty years at the Fuller Merriam Corp. where he rose from the rank of laborer to the position of general foreman in charge of production. Pat was a lifelong New York Yankee fan as well as a dedicated New York Giant fan. His one deviation from New York Teams was his fondness for the Boston Celtics. He was also very active in sports and was one of Connecticut's outstanding catchers in fast pitch softball when fast pitch was dominant. He also coached both fast pitch and slow pitch teams to many local championships, He was an avid golfer and a very competetive pinochle player. Pat loved Broadway musicals and was willing to break into a medley of his favorite tunes at any time. Pat lived life cherishing his family a nd was especially proud of his grandchildren. He also valued friendship and truly cherished his many friends. His love, his charm, his friendship, his willingness to debate any topic at any time will be missed by his family and friends. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, MONDAY morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 in St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends may call Monday mornig prior to the Mass from 7:30-8:30.Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. Pat's family extends a special thanks to the staff and friends at the Hearth at Gardenside in Branford. They offered opportunities for joy and happiness during a difficult part of his life. The family also wants to thank the staff at CT Hospice in Branford for their care during Pat's final days.
