Ancilla Scalabrin DaRe, 96, of East Haven entered into rest on Feb. 21, 2010 with her sons by her side. She was born on Sept. 1, 1913 in Schio, province of Vincenza, Italy a daughter of the late Antonio and Anna Eberlie Scalabrin, she came to the United
States in 1920. She graduated from Hillhouse High School, class of 1931 and was employed for many years by the Cott Soda Co. in New Haven from where she retired. She
was a member of the Venizia Club of East Haven. She was the wife of the late Ottavio DaRe. Mother of John Dennis (Patricia) DaRe and Donald (Barbara) DaRe both of
East Haven. Grandmother of Anthony DaRe, David DaRe, Stacy Lane and Victoria DaRe Geddes. Beloved great grandmother of Jessica, Rylee and Anthony DaRe Jr., Olivia Lane, Lilly and Sydney Geddes. Sister of Mary Scalabrin Esposito of East Haven. Ancilla loved going to the opera, doing crafts and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family, and her great grandchildren were the light of her life, bringing her much happiness and joy.
Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Thursday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:00. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8pm.
