In Bridgeport, March 3, 2010, Burton H. Gorman, 84, of Bull Frog Lane, Trumbull, former longtime resident of East Haven. Husband of the late Louise Yarish Gorman. Father of Burton H. Gorman Jr. of New Haven, Daniel T. (Mary Jane) Gorman of Trumbull, Maureen Caturano of Northford and Diane (Ronald) D'Amato of Madison. Grandfather of Jerry and Gregory Caturano, Shawn, Brendan and Brooke Gorman, Jennifer and Ronnie D'Amato, Brett and Shane Gorman and the late Burton H. Gorman III. Great grandfather of Gregory, Sophia, Zachary and Evan. Brother of Carol D'Cunto of East Haven, Margaret Redway of Guilford, Laura DiBenedetto of North Branford and the late Shirley Moras, Joan Danielak, Joseph Gorman and William Gorman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born Oct. 3, 1925 in New Haven a son of the late Joseph and Laura Bradley Gorman, he served with the US Navy during WW2 and then was employed as a locomotive engineer with the Metro- North Railroad for over forty five years. He was a member of American Legion Post # 83 in Branford and was an avid NY Yankee and NY Giant fan. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Monday morning at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at.11:00. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 3 -6pm.
