Gary Albie Mortimer, 39, has gone home to be with the Lord on April 1st, 2010 after a long year battle with lung cancer. Gary is the beloved son of Ruth Cross Reynolds and the late Warren Reynolds Jr. and Robert and Francine Mortimer. Gary leaves his two beautiful daughters, Ciara (11) and Brooklyn (7) whom he loved unconditionally. He also leaves three siblings, Robert ( Melissa) Mortimer Sr., Jeffrey ( Rebecca) Mortimer and Jennifer ( Christopher)Thomas, his nieces and nephews, Samantha, Robert Jr., Dylan and MacKenzie Mortimer and Andrew Brown, an uncle Edward(Louise)Mortimer and aunts Judy(Jim)Conn, Ginny(George) Coleman, Debbie(Richard) Montalbano and also several cousins. Gary also leaves his former wife and best friend Jessica Mortimer and a very dear friend Jennifer Sicignano.Born Dec. 31, 1970 in New Haven; he was a graduate of Eli Whitney Technical High School in Hamden and had been employed for the past eight years as a mechanic with the Metro North Railroad. Everyone who knew Gary or came in contact with him loved him. Gary had a zest for life and did everything he could to have his daughters enjoy their time together, camping, bicycling, hiking and just being together. Gary touched a lot of lives and will be missed by all who knew him. Friends are asked to go directly to St. Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 - 8 pm at the Clancy Funeral
