Frank A. Reed, 92 formerly of 111 South Shore Dr. and Bradley St., East Haven. Born in New Haven on Dec. 19, 1917, the son of Louise E. Koening and Arthur E. Reed. Beloved father of Frances A. Reed (Bud) and his wife Muriel, Glenn P. Reed and his wife GeorgeAnn, Patricia M. Reed and Linda A. Reed. Predeceased by beloved wife Florence G. Pfeiffer Reed, brothers Willard Reed, Walter Reed and Arthur Reed Jr. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive Mr. Reed. A WWII Veteran, he was Master Sergeant in the Army, an airplane mechanical tech. supervising 54 men while inspecting, repairing and maintaining 22 airplanes. Frank served in France and Italy and was awarded the EAME with 8 Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and a Good Conduct Medal. He was employed as a tool and die maker for Riverside Manufacturing Co. for 32 years. After retiring, Frank volunteered at The Hospital of St. Raphael for approximately 10 years, logging more than 7000 hours of service. The Reed family extends much gratitude to the staff and residents at The Village at Mariner’s Point and Laurel Woods and the VNA nurses and the Staff at The Hospital of St. Raphael for their love and care over the last 5 years. Funeral service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7pm.
