In New Haven, Sept. 18,2010, Charles D. Mack, 79, of Bradley Ave., East Haven. Beloved husband of Mary Forest Mack. Father of David C. Mack and wife Debra of Olive Branch, Miss. and Anne L. Mack Pacelli and husband Louis of East Haven. Brother of Carole Federation and husband Joe of East Haven. Also survived by his feline companion Toby. Born Feb. 26,1931 in West Haven a son of the late Charles M. and Eva Knudsen Mack, he was a graduate of Hillhouse High School , class of 1949 and then went on to earn his Bachelors and Masters degrees from S.C.S.U.. Charles served with the US Air Force during the Korean War and went on to become an elementary. and middle school teacher for the East Haven School System, retiring after thirty years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post # 89 in East Haven and the East Haven Senior Citizens and was a faithful comunicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church. A Memrial Mass will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 in St, Vincent de Paul Church, East Haven. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to The Smile Train, PO Box 96231, Washington, DC, 20090-6231, The American Cancer Society,825 Brook St. I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067, St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or the CT Food Bank , 150 Bradley St., East Haven, CT 06512-1407. Arrangements are with the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
