At his home October 10, 2010 Edwin E. Sandford 86, Retired East Haven. Fire Fighter, of Rosewood Ave. New Haven. Loving husband of Anne Ruocco Mancini Sandford. Father of Wayne (Christine) Sandford of East Haven, Timothy (April) Sandford of Jeanerette, Louisiana, James (Maryanne) Mancini of Cheshire, Cathy (Leonard) Pellegrino of Branford and Lisa (Wolfe) Rogers of Guilford. Also survived by his 10 cherished grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Alice June Bowden Sandford. Edwin was born October 3, 1924 in Belleayre New York son of the late Ebenezer and Esther (Hendrickson) Sandford. Mr. Sandford was a WWII Army veteran having served in Italy and Africa. He was a member of the Branford Elks #1939, The American Legion-Bartlet Post 89, East Haven, former member of the Lehigh Acres, FL. Elks Lodge where he received the Elk of the Year award, and was a former member of Bradford Manor Hose Co. #4, East Haven where he volunteered for 20 years. Funeral in Clancy Funeral Home 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven Wednesday at 11 a.m. Burial in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 - 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions to Bradford Manor Hose Co. #4 84 George St. East Haven, 06512.
