In New Haven, Oct. 17,2010,Theodore "Ted" L. Betzner Sr., 73, of Charter Oak Ave., East Haven. Beloved father of Catherine V. Sutton of Independance,KY, Theodore L. Betzner Jr., of Pleasant Hill,MO, Patricia Betzner of New London and Patrick J. Betzner of New Haven. Grandfather of Shannon Sutton, Tabetha Betzner and Ryan Betzner. Great grandfather of Natalie Bradshaw, Cadyn Murphy and Jacksyn Murphy. Brother of Beverly Farkas of Springfield,VT, Nancy ( Robert) Sisson of Guilford and Donald ( Angela) Betzner of Clinton and their families. Also survived by his loving stepson Daniel Fabrizio and many friends and extended families from the Village Inn, Borelli's and Onofrio's. He was predeceased by his wives, Grace Hemstock and Patricia Fitzsimmons. Born July 19,1937 in New Haven a son of the late Theodore R. and Verna Curran Betzner he served with the CT National Guard and was employed as a truck driver for Eastern Steel, Borrelli Farms and Onofrio's. Ted was a member of the Arbeiter Maenner Chor. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Friday morning at 8:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 9:00. Interment will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 4 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the East Haven Fire DEpt., 200 Main St., East Haven, CT 06512, the CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405 or the Hospital of St. Raphael Foundation, 1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511.
