Mae H. (Clark) Celentano, 92, passed away peacefully at Branford Hills Health Care Center on October 20th following a six-month struggle with cancer. Born October 29, 1917 in West Haven to the late Marie and Harry E. Clark, she was a long-time resident of Branford and, with her late husband Ernest, owned and operated the Summit Package Store. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Patricia Toupin and husband Paul; Janet Hines; Linda Fancher and husband Robert; and two sons, James Celentano and Robert Celentano. Mae took great pride in her nine grandchildren: Jeffrey Gorman, Paul Gorman; Christopher Hines, Eric Hines, Bryan Hines; Aaron Fancher, Adam Fancher, Kendra Fancher; Isabelle Celentano and three great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and best friend, Ruth Miller and nephew Harry Edward Clark. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry T. Clark and her son-in-law, Allan Hines. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to VNA Community Healthcare (753 Boston Post Road, Guilford, CT 06437) for the many years of wonderful care and support Mae received. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to that organization. Funeral service will be held Saturday morning at 11: 00 in the Clancy Funeral home, 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven. Burial will follow in ST. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00.
