Obituary of Constance R. Gerling

In New Haven, Oct. 29, 2010, Constance R. Marino Gerling, 88, a lifelong resident of Bradley Ave., East Haven. Wife of the late W. Dale Gerling. Mother of Karen Marr and husband Gordon of Clifton,VA. Grandmother of Amanda and Christopher Marr. Sister of Dorothy Prata of East Haven and the late Dolores Eyles. Sister in law of Deacon William H. Eyles of East Haven. Born Dec. 24, 1921 in New Haven, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Florence Collins Marino. She graduated high school in New Haven and later graduated from Beautician School and then for many years owned and operated the Venus Salon of Beauty in two locations in New Haven. She also along with her late husband had owned the Venus Travel Agency. Constance was a member and past president of the East Haven Women's Club and also was a member and past president of the East Haven Garden Club. She also was a former State Representative for the PTA. Graveside service will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 in the East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Calling hours will be Monday from 5 - 7 pm at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
