In Madison, Nov. 16,2010, Ruth Burns Connor, 87, of Messina Dr., East Haven, formerly of Iver Ave. East Haven. Wife of the late John B. Connor. Mother of Sharon P. ( Art Gallipoli ) Conlan of Branford, Susan E. ( Jack ) Stacey of East Haven and Patricia L. ( John ) Ardito of East Haven. Grandmother of Kimberly ( Marc ) Reynolds, Kelly ( Steve ) Manware, Billy ( Carra ) Conlan, Sarah ( Robert ) Bourdeau, Meaghan ( Dan) Montabana, John Ardito and Michael Ardito. Also survived by ten great grandchildren and a sister Helen Page of East Haven. She was predeceased by a sister Jane Pierson. Born Sept. 16,1923 in Waterloo, NY a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ella Kirk Burns, she had been employed as a secretary for the former NY-New Haven-Hartford Railroad and also as an assistant librarian at the Hagaman Memorial Library in East Haven. Ruth was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in East Haven, an avid and skilled golfer, a great fan of the Boston Red Sox and the UConn men's and ladie's basketball teams and enjoyed playing bocce and cards and swimming at the town pool. Funeral from the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, Saturday morning at 9:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10:00. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 8:30-9:30. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 306 Industrial Pad Rd., Ste 105, Middletown, CT 06457.
