Obituary of Arvid C. Freeberg

In Branford, Nov. 27,2010, Arvid C. Freeberg, 94, of Foote Rd., East Haven. Beloved husband of Helen Kempersal Freeberg. Father of Rein C.( Laurel ) Freeberg of Lexington,MA and Alfred C, Freeberg ( Col USAF, Ret.) of Annapolis,MD. Grandfather of Andrew, Kristen, Karen, Daniel and Catherine Freeberg. Brother of the late Erna Freeberg and Wilma Golden. Born July 24,1919 in Boston, MA a son of the late Alfred and Lucy Tilton Freeberg, he was a high school graduate and then graduated fron New Haven College. He was employed as a precision tool maker for many years, first with Springfield Arms during WWII and then with his father's Co., Walden Tool and Die of New Haven and lastley for Pratt - Whitney from where he retired after over thirty years of service. Arvid was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven and was a founding member of the Shoreline Trolley Museum.He was an avid fisherman and was a fan of the NY Yankees. Funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 10:00- 11:00.
