Richard Cafferty 79 of West Haven passed away December 13, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born April 29, 1939 in West Haven to James and Loretta (Campane) Cafferty. Richard is survived by his son, James Cafferty (Laura) of Wayland, MA, two grandsons, Dylan and Celestin Cafferty along with his siblings, Cathy Mancini of New Haven, Sheila Festa (Edward) of West Haven and Gerald Cafferty (Penny) of New Haven and numerous nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his parents and brother, the Rev. Patrick Cafferty, SJ. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date in St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Main Street, West Haven. Funeral services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), East Haven.
