Phyllis (Ficocelli) Amore 95 of New Haven passed away May 18, 2021 at St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born September 19, 1925 in New Haven to Vincent and Maria (Peluso) Ficocelli. Phyllis is survived by her three children, Marie Muccio (Jerry) of VT, Carl Amore of New Haven and Dominic Amore Jr. of Branford along with one granddaughter, Tammy Muccio (Hickox) and two great grandchildren, Annie and Libby Hickox.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dominic Amore (2005) and three siblings, John Ficocelli, Michael Ficocelli and Madeline Carrano.
Phyllis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was a lifelong resident of New Haven, graduating from Commercial High in 1943, and a long-time parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul’s Church in East Haven. Throughout her life, she loved to draw, to watch the classic movies of her youth, and to cook wonderful Italian meals for her family, especially on holidays.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2021 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at which time her procession will leave for a 1 P.M. Graveside Service in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
