Please share a memory of Curtis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Curtis William Guyer, 67,of Northford passed away Thursday, January 4th 2024, just before midnight, after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease. Curtis was the son and only child of Edith (Tess) C. Guyer and the late Donald W. Guyer. Born in Fall River Mass. Curt moved with his parents to North Branford, Conn. in time to attend kindergarten (or 1st grade) and had resided in town ever since. An extremely unique individual, Curt had a “green thumb” and chose farming as his life’s vocation after graduating high school and he went on to own and work several farms. Curtis never seemed to be angry however he did enjoy a good “argument”. Having been an avid reader all his life and having an extensive knowledge of history, culture, geography, language and politics, he was able to engage people and then “hold his own” in many a discourse with his friends or even people he had just met. With a superb sense of humor, Curt both enjoyed laughing and making people laugh. He had a quick dry wit and liked to interject puns into the conversation whenever possible. Curtis liked music and enjoyed singing loudly (the louder the better) with his friends, whatever the key, and regardless of whether or not he knew all the words. He was always willing to take the time to chat (or sing) while sharing a “cold one” (Busch of course). Although seemingly adverse to technology, Curt did, in later years, teach himself to “day trade” on the computer and really liked buying and selling stocks, especially when he could claim he had a “really great day” in the stock market. Curtis, a confirmed bachelor, left no children of his own, but did leave the world a more interesting, more humorous and a better and more verdant place for all those who knew him.
