Vincent W. Crisco, “Vinny,” 83 of East Haven passed away February 14, 2024 at Ct Hospice. He was born September 5, 1940 in New Haven to Carmen and Raphaella (Cretella) Crisco. Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Patricia “Pat” (Cifaldi) Crisco and two loving daughters; Karen Laracca (Ronald) of Trumbull and Pamela Mongillo (Robert) of Guilford along with three grandchildren he adored, Adam Laracca (Christine), Sara Laracca and Anthony Mongillo. He is also survived by one sister, Mary Crisco of New Haven. Vincent is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Christopher Crisco and a brother, Joseph D. Crisco. Vincent was a lifelong resident of New Haven county. He enjoyed telling stories of his youth growing up in the Wallace Street neighborhood. He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in 1958. Before marrying Patricia in 1962, he served 6 months active duty in the Army National Guard. As he began a career in finance, he continued to serve in active reserves for another 5 years earning the rank of specialist fourth class. Vinny's career in finance started with American Finance in New Haven, doing door-to-door collections on delinquent accounts. He became a banker at Connecticut Savings Bank in East Haven and downtown New Haven rising into management and working in credit card fraud. While working at CSB he attended night classes at the University of New Haven. Vincent continued to work in credit card fraud with People's Bank in Bridgeport, finishing his banking career there in 2002. During his finance career in the 1970’s, he and his brother co-owned Roma's Delicatessen in New Haven and later, Crisco's Package Store in Hamden along with their father which they sold in the 1980s. Vinny was a devout fan of the Boston Red Sox, rarely leaving the house without his Red Sox cap. Most important was his devotion to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was the proud father at both of his daughter's graduations from Middle School to College. He never said no to any request from his daughters which included serving as a taxi driver, mover, home repair man and babysitter. As a devoted grandfather he attended every event his grandchildren asked him to. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20 at 12:15 PM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven with burial and full US Army Military Honors to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Vincent was a long time blood donor; he donated over 13 gallons in his lifetime. He was very proud to donate and help others. In his honor, please make donations to the American Red Cross, 209 Farmington Ave., Farmington, CT 06032.
