Sandra (Zvonkovic) Birdsell, 81 of Stamford passed away March 1, 2024 at Stamford Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 3, 1942 in New Haven to Stephen and Mildred (Collins) Zvonkovic. Sandra is survived by her three loving children; Michele Coscia of Shelton, Christopher P. Rogers of Bethel and Stephanie Rogers of Deptford, NJ along with one grandson, Michael Coscia. Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard Birdsell (2021), infant brother, Stephen Zvonkovic III, and an infant granddaughter, Cassandra Coscia. Loving Mother and Grandmother, she was a passionate knitter, and a voracious reader. She loved History and mystery novels. Spending her days reading, she enjoyed discussing her latest book story line and was always up for any conversation relating to history. If there is a library in heaven Mom is there. She was a member of the SLA, Special Libraries Associates, Ferguson Knit & Needles Knitting Gathering, Cloak & Dagger Mystery Book Club, Stamford over 60 Club and the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens. Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a graveside service on Saturday March 16, 2024 at 11 A.M. in East Lawn Cemetery, 58 River Street, East Haven CT 06512 (Please go directly to the cemetery). All services are under the care of the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
